A flurry of Deputy Attorneys have been filing Sexual Harassment and Retaliation lawsuits against the current Orange County. The plaintiffs allege that harassment in the workplace has been perpetrated and tolerated by Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer and Senior Assistant District Attorney Gary Logalbo.
The Allegations
The allegations go beyond the scope of only sexual harassment. One plaintiff, a Muslim refugee, filed a lawsuit against Logalbo citing not only sexual harassment but also racist remarks made by the Senior Assistant DA.[1]
DA Todd Spitzer is also accused of retaliating against the four plaintiffs for speaking against the alleged harassment. DA Spitzer is accused of bad-mouthing one of the accusers to a local reporter and releasing the first sexual harassment report to over 700 employees. This sexual harassment report contained information that put the accusers at risk of being identified by their fellow employees, and as a result, would be provoked into dropping the allegations.
Appalling Behavior by the Senior Assistant District Attorney
Some of the instances of harassment made by the Senior Assistant DA Todd Logalbo that are quoted in the lawsuits are, “If there wasn’t anyone here right now, I would grab your ass.” And another instance in which Logalbo took a picture of one female employee as she bent over and said, “This one is for the spank bank, I’ll use it later.”
