FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Makarem & Associates filed a sexual harassment lawsuit on January 5th, 2026, in the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles, against BACKSTAGE LLC. CHAKRA VISION PRODUCTIONS, INC., and CHARLES KRAMER. Case number:26NNCV00084.

LOS ANGELES – January 7th, 2026 BACKSTAGE LLC, A Delaware company; CHAKRAVISION PRODUCTIONS, INC., a California corporation; and CHARLES KRAMER, an individual, are facing a lawsuit alleging that BACKSTAGE LLC failed to protect its performers from falsified opportunities and production studios, such as CHAKRA VISION PRODUCTIONS, INC., and CHARLES KRAMER.

BACKSTAGE LLC operates the website Backstage.com, an online platform that connects performers with casting opportunities and auditions. Plaintiff is a performer and actor who actively pursues professional opportunities in film, television, and related media. As part of her career, Plaintiff regularly relies on online casting platforms, including Backstage, to identify and access auditions and casting opportunities that are represented as legitimate, screened, and safe.

The Complaint alleges that Plaintiff joined BACKSTAGE LLC in approximately 2023, paying for a subscription membership based on Backstage’s representations that it carefully reviewed postings, evaluated safety, and conducted background checks on certain projects. On or about November 18, 2025, the Complaint alleges Plaintiff saw a casting notice posted on Backstage for a project listing “Carlos Kramero” as executive producer and prominently marked as “Background Checked.” The Complaint alleges that the casting notice further represented that the project was associated with “Stepchild Media” under the “Company Details” section. In reality, no such company exists. Relying on Backstage’s representations regarding safety and screening, the Complaint alleges that Plaintiff submitted an audition and was invited to an in-person audition in Culver City.

On November 19, 2025, the Complaint alleges that during the purported audition, Defendant Kramer initially had Plaintiff read camera lines but quickly shifted to directing sexually suggestive conduct, instructing Plaintiff to behave seductively and physically interact with him while he filmed her in a closed office setting. The Complaint alleges that Defendant Kramer pressed his body against Plaintiff, simulated sexual activity with her, attempted to kiss her, and made unwanted physical contact with intimate areas of her body, including exposing part of her breast, while Plaintiff resisted and attempted to avoid further contact as she did not consent to any of Defendant Kramer’s sexual touching, simulated sexual conduct, physical contact with intimate areas, attempts to kiss her, or exposure of her body.

As Plaintiff was leaving, he allegedly informed her that his real name was Charles Kramer, not “Carlos Kramero” as represented on the posting.

The Complaint alleges that Backstage’s representations regarding safety and background screening were false, misleading, and induced Plaintiff to submit to and attend the audition. The Complaint alleges that if Backstage had conducted reasonable screening or truthfully disclosed the lack of vetting, Plaintiff would not have been exposed to and sexually assaulted by Kramer.
